Can SQL really help you secure a USD 25K/INR 20 Lakhs tech management job role?

When I started my tech management career with Accenture as a Business analyst, I was really not aware of the journey that would later take me into the world of sql. I have always wanted to be the best at the role I was assigned to. My initial assumption was wrong. I used to believe that my MBA degree would impress my Team Lead in Accenture, but she didn't bat an eye. You know why? Because in 2024, Skills>>>>>Any Degree whatsoever

The faster you realise the above fact, the faster you will progress in the corporate world, and even in your freelancing career. I used to suck at writing sql queries due to the lack of clarity of concepts. But hold on! Why am I telling you about sql? The highest paying jobs in the world today require sql skills. Just learning Microsoft Excel won't suffice even if you're from a non-tech background. And believe me, people from non tech background have learned sql and earning around INR 40 Lakhs in India. Those who work in other countries can easily earn upto USD160k+ with 5+ years of work experience in sql. If you're still not convinced, check these stats posted by epam anywhere, a US tech company https://anywhere.epam.com/en/blog/sql-developer-salary I significantly improved my sql skills at Accenture under the supervision of my wonderful Team Lead. I was a part of a core banking project for a Australian client and we had to analyze millions of transactions for the client's business. If I wouldn't have learned advanced sql, I would have never survived in that project. After a year of working at Accenture I switched to a product based oprganisation called as Apexx Global for a generous hike due to my sql skills alone. Most of the tech professionals are learning sql these days to get a higher salary and become indispensable at their job roles. Even MBA graduates are looking for Business analyst, Product analyst, Product manager, and IT Project manager roles where sql is a mandatory skill.

So no matter where you learn sql from, whether be it from technologymad.com or some other edtech platform, make sure that you know which tech job role you're targeting. If you still need help, you can always reach out to me at my email id ashish@technologymad.com or at my Linkedin. Until next time, Cheers!
